Farming to Feed Ecosystems

melebenz

Our farm is part of the 1000 Farms Initiative studying the impacts of regenerative farming practices. We're thrilled that the data collected on our farm supports what we see with our own eyes. The soil we've built through deliberate farming over 40+ years has built a healthy microbial community that supports plant diversity, invertebrate diversity, and animal diversity. This great blue heron recently enjoyed the fruits of our labor in the rain, harvesting gophers that live beneath our tree canopy.

The study looks at multiple factors that are important in sustainable farming. How do these practices support the ecosystem? What is the nutrient value of the almonds we grow? And how do the farms choosing to farm the way we do fare economically? We're encouraged by the findings and hope our customers feel the same way!
